Meet Our Founder & CEO
Purple Diamond Press was founded by Charity M. Harris, an award-winning children’s author, publisher, graphic designer, and disability advocate with a passion for creating books that help children feel seen, valued, and inspired.
After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a minor in Marketing from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, Charity combined her love of storytelling, design, and publishing to build a company dedicated to producing meaningful children’s literature.
As both an author and publisher, she understands the publishing journey from every perspective. That experience allows her to guide authors with honesty, transparency, and a collaborative approach that keeps each creator’s vision at the heart of every project.
A Personal Mission
Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease has shaped Charity’s belief that representation matters. Throughout her life, she rarely saw characters who reflected her own experiences, inspiring her to create stories where children of all backgrounds, abilities, and families can recognize themselves and appreciate others.
Today, that philosophy continues to guide Purple Diamond Press. While every book has its own unique voice and purpose, the company remains committed to publishing stories that celebrate diversity, encourage imagination, and create meaningful reading experiences for children everywhere.
