More Than an Internship

Our internship program is designed to give students meaningful exposure to the day-to-day work behind publishing and promoting children’s books.

Interns have the opportunity to learn how ideas move from strategy to execution while contributing to supervised projects involving books, authors, marketing campaigns, digital content, research, and audience development.

This is a learning-focused program. Interns receive guidance, feedback, and opportunities to develop work that can strengthen their professional portfolios.

What You’ll Gain

Real-World Experience

Work with real books, campaigns, publishing initiatives, and marketing projects rather than simulated classroom assignments.

Professional Development

Strengthen your communication, organization, research, creative thinking, and professional skills.

Portfolio Experience

Develop selected projects and work samples that may be appropriate for inclusion in your professional portfolio.

Publishing Industry Exposure

Learn more about the business behind children’s books, including publishing, branding, marketing, audience development, book promotion, and author support.

Guidance & Feedback

Receive direction and constructive feedback throughout the semester while developing new professional skills.

Academic Credit & University Approval

Students must receive approval from their university before beginning the internship and are responsible for confirming their eligibility for internship or course credit.

Purple Diamond Press can complete reasonable university documentation, evaluations, or supervisor forms required for an approved internship program.
