Help Turn One Curious Book Into a Learning Movement

I had so much fun reading What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris. My favorite part was the emphasis on asking who, what, where, why, how, and when. Kids are curious by nature, and Harris shows them that their questions matter. The STEAM concepts are approachable instead of intimidating. I’d love to share this with my kindergarten students...I believe this book belongs in homes, classrooms, and libraries. Albert Einstein said, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.” I think that perfectly captures the message here. You never know where one little question might lead.

I love how the story focuses on kids trading ideas and building little projects as a team, showing that learning is a great way to make friends and encourage teamwork. It is an easy recommendation for any parent’s or teacher’s reading rotation, proving that a single question can jumpstart a lifetime of creative thinking. Highly recommended.

What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris is a well-written children's book filled with dynamic visual elements specifically geared toward young children. Each page was filled with an image on a topic of exploration, with a few lines of written text in the upper corner of the page. Each page presented a new topic filled with happy children exploring it and asking "who, what, when, where, and why." I found this format to be perfect for young children, as the image draws them in with their interests and then the words inspire them to ask questions about it. I personally really like the curiosity challenge at the end of the book, as it gives children a way to personalize the book as theirs while also getting them to directly engage with the idea of asking questions about everything. The fact that it asks them not just questions, but to come up with an idea of how to test their question was a nice touch. It gets children not just questioning but also looking for answers as well. Overall, this is a must-have book for young elementary-aged students.
